The sneaky way clutter affects your sleep!



This summer, I'm hosting the free Summer of Simplicity series. In this series, we're focusing on decluttering, organizing, and creating routines & habits to stop the clutter from coming back... all in just 10-15 minutes a day!

Welcome to Week 4 of the challenge! This week we're focusing on the surfaces in your master bedroom!

When you first enter a room, surface clutter is the very first thing you see. Clutter on the floor, dressers, tables, etc. It's very noticeable and makes the room look very messy.

A messy room is stressful. Your bedroom should be a peaceful haven, not a source of stress. Clear the clutter off the surfaces and you'll be amazed at what a difference it makes!

  1. If you haven't yet, download the FREE challenge pack here.
  2. Follow the instructions for Week 4 (bedroom surfaces).
  3. Spend 10-15 minutes each day completing the checklist (found in the FREE challenge pack).
  4. By the end of the week, you should have a lot less clutter on your bedroom floors, dressers, and bedside tables (and the most important part- you'll start creating a habit of decluttering).

Sleep experts share that a cluttered bedroom can affect how fast you fall asleep, as well as the quality of sleep you get each night.

Surface clutter is one of the very last things you see when you close your eyes at night, and one of the very first things you see when you wake up in the morning.

This is why we're spending Week 4 of the Summer of Simplicity challenge focusing on bedroom surface clutter.

It's CRUCIAL to get the clutter in your bedroom under control!

The bedroom should be the LEAST cluttered room of the home. But sadly, for many people, it's the MOST cluttered room in the home.

If you're having trouble sleeping at night, before you invest in a new mattress or turn to medication, try decluttering first!

Get that surface clutter under control to ensure your bedroom is a peaceful, relaxing place so you can get a good night's sleep.
