Transform your kitchen this week!

Last week, we officially started the free Summer of Simplicity series. In this series, we're focusing on decluttering, organizing, and creating routines & habits to stop the clutter from coming back... all in just 10-15 minutes a day!

Welcome to Week 2 of the challenge! This week we're focusing on the kitchen counters!

The number one clutter area in the kitchen is, guess what, the counters! Is there anything worse than going to cook a meal in the kitchen and not having any counter space?

This week, you're going to assess everything you have sitting on your counter tops. You'll remove the things that don't truly belong, and find places for things to live that's not on your counter tops!

If you put in 10-15 minutes every day, by the end of the week you'll have decluttered and cleared your kitchen counters. And (best of all), you'll start putting routines into place to keep them clutter free!


  1. If you haven't yet, download the FREE challenge pack here.
  2. Follow the instructions for Week 2 (kitchen counters).
  3. Spend 10-15 minutes each day completing the kitchen counter checklist (found in the FREE challenge pack).
  4. By the end of the week, you should have completely transformed your kitchen counters (and the most important part- you'll begin creating a habit of decluttering).


Large appliances tend to take up the most real estate. You want to make sure that the only appliances sitting on your counter tops are the ones you use on a regular basis.

If you don't use it that often, it doesn't deserve a spot on your counter. It's only taking up valuable space that could be used for something else.

Likewise, go through any utensil caddies, knife blocks, spice racks, baskets, and anything else that seems to have a permanent home on your counters.

The only things on your counters should be the things you reach for almost every time you go to make a meal.

If you have things sitting on your counters that you can't remember the last time you used them and they're gathering dust, you're probably better off tossing, donating, or selling them!

Get those counter tops cleared off and you'll be amazed at what a world of a difference it makes. The next time you go to cook, you'll actually be able to use your counter tops for their intended purpose!
